Online High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to make it to the last poker table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest gamblers in the world. While participating in internet poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus regularly participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of $40, 000. Gus usually buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all in. I believe Gus is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy in.
Playing for the minimum takes most of the ability out of deep stack poker. Gus is supposed to be 1 of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amt.. I think television can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The best players in the world may be players you have won’t have heard of before. Gus can be seen betting on online poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in high stakes omaha hold’em and Holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his abilities in money rounds?
