Internet Big Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?
Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to make it to the last poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best bettors anywhere in the world. While participating in net poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He regularly plays in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen frequently buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all in. I accept that Hansen is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is bankrupt, he has no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy in.
Playing for the minimum takes most of the skill out of deep stack poker. Gus is presumed to be 1 of the best players in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amt.. I think television can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The best poker players anywhere in the world could be guys you have never heard about. Gus can be seen betting on net poker on Full Tilt. He commonly competes in big stakes omaha eight-or-better and hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his talents in cash rounds?
