Gus Hansen enjoyed a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to achieve final table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a big pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best gamblers around the world. While betting on net poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus regularly participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen more often than not buys in for the minimum of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Hansen is an amazing poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is flat broke, he has little or no reason to play at the table with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the minimum takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be 1 of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amt.. I think television can alter our perception of the real world every now and then. The best poker players anywhere in the world could be guys you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen participating in online poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in high stakes Omaha and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his talents in money games?
