NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor in the world by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandpa showed him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to learn everything he possibly could about poker. Phil would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the negative feedback from others annihilate his goal of being one of the best poker competitors in the world.
He started competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a teaching period and coming away with a win was not a normal outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he defeated many of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his success to dedication and an eternal love for poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every single day and is quite abashed about his accomplishments. He knows he makes mistakes every single session of poker and always strives to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he favors winning money games on a regular basis.
