Concentrate on Annie Duke
Annie Duke might not have won her first WSOP Bracelet until 2004 but Annie is one of the most feared poker competitors around the ring games at The Bellagio in Vegas. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.
While players from the "young crowd" of poker go crazy after a huge success at the tables, Annie heads home to be "mom" to her 4 kids. She hails from NH and was raised into a family of poker players. If you do not believe that, have a look at her brother, Howard Lederer, in action, who taught her the best method to compete in the game.
However, Annie Duke is not a small-potatoes girl and has earned her share of hard tables, which includes eliminating Howard along the way on several occasions.
Winning over 3 million dollars in tournament play, Annie became a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who wanted to develop his abilities and become a power player at the poker table.
You might notice her at the Bellagio, you will see her on the tv and you might just even compete against her in a web-based poker game, but do not count on an easy win. Unless you’re a rising star, you won’t defeat her. However, it would be fun to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
